WILFRIED ZAHA revealed he was an Arsenal fan as a boy – and remains one, leaving the Gunners faithful convinced he will move to the Emirates this summer.
SunSport told you that the Gunners want to test Crystal Palace's resolve by making a bid for their star later in the transfer window.
A video has emerged on social media of Zaha being interview by Italian journalist Alessandro Schiavone in 2017.
And when asked which team the Palace star supported as a child, he said: "Arsenal. Still do."
Palace have slapped an £80million price tag on the sought-after winger.
But Unai Emery will only have £40m available to spend if Arsenal fail to beat Chelsea in the Europa League final and qualify for the Champions League.
Therefore, the Gunners are likely to wait until later in the summer to make a move, hoping Eagles chiefs will budge on their valuation.
But Zaha's revelation has made Arsenal fans hopeful they will get their man this summer.
One wrote on Reddit: "Really hope he can push for a move if we do get Champions League."
While another added: "I feel he's got the potential to solve our winger problems."
"He's direct, he's good at taking on players and he's got some goals in him."
And a third said: "He’d be a really quality player in the squad. He’s everything I really wish Iwobi would be."
Emery wants to add more homegrown talent to his team, making Zaha one of his top transfer priorities.
The Palace winger scored ten goals and grabbed ten assists for the Eagles last season.
