    Victor Osimhen transfer war

Arsenal are facing an intense transfer war for Napoli superstar Victor Osimhen.

According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea are still keeping tabs on Osimhen.

This comes after rumours suggesting a deal has been "agreed" between the striker and Liverpool.

A Chelsea source told TT: “It is not guaranteed that Osimhen will be a Chelsea player but he is someone the club have been tracking closely. With that the recent actions and statements from Napoli and De Laurentiis have obviously been noted.

“The new contract is a huge matter, it does not look like he is going to sign at this moment, but as a club it is something that would have a major bearing on any plans for him.”

journalist Valter De Maggio also told Televomero the Reds and the Nigeria international already have "an agreement in place".

    Chelsea's Ramsdale interest

Chelsea are planning a shock move for out-of-favour Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, who has fallen down the pecking order behind Brentford loanee David Raya.

Transfer insider Ben Jacobs claims the Blues hope to take advantage of Ramsdale’s situation across the capital and sign him.

The England international knows he needs to be playing consistently to earn a place on the plane to Germany for Euro 2024 and challenge Jordan Pickford.

However, there could be a number of hurdles to overcome for the West Londoners in order to get the keeper's signature.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta would firstly no doubt be reluctant to sell to a rival and he may also have plans to restore the 25-year-old to his starting line-up.

Reports first emerged of Chelsea’s interest at the start of September but they are not the only club interested in the ex-Sheffield United shot-stopper.

Bayern Munich are also understood to be eyeing Ramsdale's situation with his contract running until 2026.

Ramos puts Arsenal as the best

Sergio Ramos has claimed that Arsenal are the best team in Europe currently following Sevilla's defeat to the club.

He said: "We had chances to hurt them, knowing that Arsenal are a team that wants to play football, that leaves a lot of space on the line to take advantage of those losses that we sometimes found, but we did not capitalise well enough.

"I think that in the end, we went head to head, both against Real Madrid and Arsenal.

"It is true that it is difficult not to see a difference before we played the teams that, for me, currently play the best in Europe.

"And playing face to face with this type of team and knowing that they create from the back and want to create by playing football from the goalkeeper’s kick, is not easy."

    Arteta laments missed chances

Despite beating Sevilla, manager Mikel Arteta did lament Arsenal's missed chances that would have killed the game off.

We missed some chances, especially the one with Gabi [Martinelli].

In the Champions League you aren’t going to create that many, and you have to be ruthless. It’s a shame because we started the second half really well again, scored the goal, and we have big chances to score the third one and we didn’t.

In the first action they had, they scored from the corner and it’s game on and they can generate momentum. They have a lot of experience to deal with those moments and they really have to suffer and we did that really well.

We are on a journey still, a lot of games to play for, a lot things can happen, it shows you how difficult it is to win in the Champions League, especially away from home.

    Arteta 'happy' with win

Mikel Arteta has expressed his delight at Arsenal's 2-1 win over Sevilla in Spain last night.

I’m really happy. I really liked the determination and the courage that the team played in a stadium like this. [Sevilla] haven’t lost many games in 10 years in Europe and it was incredible to play in this atmosphere.

It was a big, big step for us to be able to play the way we played here.

To come here and to restrict them and control the game like we’ve done and to generate the situation that we’ve generated, big credit because it’s very, very difficult to do that.
