ARSENAL are eyeing a move for Borussia Dortmund defender Dan-Axel Zagadou, according to reports.

The talented centre-back impressed scouts while representing France at this summer's Under-20 World Cup.

Zagadou, 20, was an instrumental figure for the side who crashed out at the hands of the USA in the last-16.

Gunners boss Unai Emery has prioritised bolstering his defence with Celtic's left-back Kieran Tierney also in his sights.

Zagadou left French giants Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer in 2017 to make the switch to the Bundesliga side.

With a greater prospect of regular football, he made 11 league appearances in his debut campaign before featuring 21 times in all competitions last season.

According to reports in France, Dortmund realise his potential and won't let him leave on the cheap which could prove an obstacle for Arsenal.

He still has three years remaining on his current contract and Emery has been handed a strict transfer budget believed to be around £45million.

However, he will have more cash to spend if he's able to generate it by player sales.

Elsewhere, SunSport revealed how Emery will make a desperate plea to the Arsenal board to sign Crystal Palace superstar Wilfried Zaha.

Zaha who is a boyhood Arsenal fan, would be expected to cost at least £55m after his consistent form in the Premier League since rejoining Palace five years ago.
