MASSIMILIANO ALLEGRI would win the Premier League in two years if he took over at Manchester United.

That's according to former Juventus director Luciano Moggi, who thinks Allegri would be a perfect fit at Old Trafford.

Former Juve and Italy star defender Moreno Torricelli believes he would go on to win the Champions League too within just three years.

Allegri is the big name being mentioned to replace Ole Gunnar Solskajer, who is coming under increasing pressure in the hotseat.

The Norwegian has overseen the club's worst start to a season for 30 years, and has been distracted with numerous off-field issues.

From injury problems to constant rumours that star man Paul Pogba wants out, his first full season in charge hasn't got off to a good start.

CAN WIN THE PREM

While Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is the bookies' favourite to succeed Solskjaer, Allegri, who is out of work after leaving Juventus in the summer, is another potential option.

And he would be "the best option", according to Moggi.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, the 82-year-old said: "Allegri is the best possible option for United.

"With all due respect to Moyes and Solskjaer, Allegri is better than both.

"He will bring United back to winning the championship and competing against Juventus, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Liverpool.

"I'm sure that in two years, United would be triumphant in the Premier League with him on the bench."

It will take time to get the club back to other levels but Allegri will succeed.

SunSport reported how the 52-year-old Italian is learning English with a first job in the Premier League looking a real possibility.

Everton could also make a move for Allegri should Marco Silva get the sack after their difficult start.

But it is the United role that looks the most intriguing, with the club desperate to reclaim former glories.

And glory would be exactly what he would bring, according to 49-year-old Torricelli.

He added: "It will take time to get the club back to other levels but Allegri will succeed.

"And in three years he will be King of Europe."

Allegri has been out of work since leaving Juve this summer – where he was replaced by Maurizio Sarri.

But he could be back in business sooner than expected, thanks to Man Utd's horror start to 2019-20.
