The proud mom of Yankee manager Aaron Boone is rooting for another team to make the World Series — the Washington Nationals.

Of course Mama Boone is rooting hard for the Bronx Bombers to make the fall classic too.

“We can have a Boone versus Boone World Series,” the 70-year-old matriarch of the three-generation major-league family told The Post. Her husband, Bob, 71, a former All-Star catcher, works in the Nats’ front office.

She believes the Yanks have a tougher, longer road ahead with the Houston Astros [The ALCS begins in Houston Saturday, 8:08 p.m., FOX] than they did with the Twins.

“The last series was so nice, sweeping Minnesota. But that’s not going to happen with Houston. Six [games] is kind of in my mind,” she said.

Sue Boone is candid when it comes to her opinion of the Bombers’ playoff lineup — and her son’s playoff haircut.

“I asked him why he had gotten a haircut,” she said of his Thursday styling. “He’s got a little bit of a receding hairline. He looks better with longer hair. He looks bald when it’s cut short and he has his cap on.”

Last playoff season, Mrs. Boone didn’t agree with her son’s decision to start Gary Sanchez behind the plate, but the mercurial catcher is back in her good graces. “He’s done a great job. I’m sure his health has a lot to do with it.”

Her infield would feature .327-hitting DJ LeMahieu at first base (“he blows me away”); 22-year-old Gleyber Torres at second (“you would never know his age”); Didi Gregorius at shortstop (“spectacular, artistic, he puts out all the tweets”), and Gio Urshela at third base (“they call it the hot corner for a reason and you need somebody who can field everything out there”).

Mama Boone “loves” Edwin Encarnacion as the designated hitter (“he can put runs up in a heartbeat”); and Brett Gardner (“he’s put on a show this year”) and Aaron Judge (“fantastic”) in the outfield.

While she praised the play of sparkplug Cameron Maybin, she concedes the team has to start $26 million-a-year slugger Giancarlo Stanton in the last OF spot (“They have to see if he’s everything that they thought he was”).

Mama Boone favors Masahiro Tanaka — like her son — over James Paxton as her Game 1 starting pitcher because “when it comes to the playoffs, Tanaka is the man.”

She said she couldn’t predict who the breakout star of the series will be: “How can you put it on one guy? They are lethal. They have a lethal lineup!”

Sue Boone confessed the Astros “have a really good team” and fireballer Gerrit Cole is “scary.”

But she thinks the patient Yankee hitters will outlast the vaunted Houston pitching staff, because they are masters at making “that other guy throw a lot of pitches and wear that guy out.”

Mama Boone still sends loving emojis to Aaron’s phone from time to time, usually after big games, but said husband Bob — who won a championship with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1980 — does not get the same treatment when the Nationals win. “Gosh no,” she laughed.

“Bob teases me because I call the Yankees my team,” she said, noting he reminds her “your check comes from the Nationals.”

Who will she root for if her Yankees-Nationals dream Series becomes a reality?

“Aaron’s my son, bottom line. And he’s never won a World Series,” she said “I will definitely be pulling for Aaron.”
