THE transfer window is drawing ever closer and a number of teams will be looking to make sweeping changes to their squads.

Chelsea will hope to make up for lost time if their ban is overturned, while underachievers Tottenham and Man Utd will also be keen to dip into the market.

• REAL MADRID hope to poach Christian Eriksen for a bargain £30million in January, according to reports.

  Los Blancos failed to land the Danish ace, 27, over the summer and do not want to risk missing out on him again.

  But according to AS and Marca, Eriksen would rather wait until his deal runs out in June so he can leave for free and pick up a huge signing bonus.

  

• MANCHESTER CITY are reportedly set to battle it out with Chelsea in the race to sign Dinamo Zagreb starlet Antonio Marin.

  The 18-year-old has been heralded as one of Croatia's most exciting prospects, with the winger already featuring in four league games for the senior side this season.

  His performances have caught the eye of a number of clubs as they look to land the teenager.

  According to Sky Sports, City are keeping tabs on the player as they weigh up a move for Marin.

  But they face competition from Premier League rivals Chelsea, as well as La Liga outfit Villarreal, who are also monitoring his situation.

• FENERBAHCE have reportedly opened talks with Arsenal about bringing Mesut Ozil to Turkey on loan in January.

  The German playmaker has been left out of the last three matchday squads – leading to speculation his career at the Emirates is coming to an end.

  And Fenerbahce are believed to be willing to offer him an escape route, with Turkish outlet Takvim claiming they are set to revive their interest in the World Cup winner.

  They state that the ex-Real Madrid star is keen to join his boyhood club, with Fenerbahce’s director of football Damien Comolli in discussions with the Gunners.

• LEEDS are interested in taking Steven Gerrard to Elland Road should Marcelo Bielsa leave at the end of the season, according to reports.

  The Liverpool legend, 39, is currently in charge at Rangers, taking over at Ibrox last year on a four-year deal.

  He has started to get Rangers competing with rivals Celtic again and his side are top of the Scottish Premiership by two points.

  But according to Football Insider, he could be making a return to English football if Leeds get their way.

  The Championship side are thought to be starting to make a contingency plan should current boss Bielsa decide to leave.

• PETR CECH has announced a bold new career move and he will be allowed to keep his trademark headguard on – when playing ice hockey for Guildford Phoenix.

  Some former footballers are tempted into appearances on shows such as Dancing on Ice but the ex-Chelsea and Arsenal keeper has different plans for the rink.

  The 37-year-old said he was “delighted” to begin his new career in a sport he has “loved to watch and play as a kid”.
