TOTTENHAM have made the first major signing of the January transfer window.

Gedson Fernandes has joined on an initial 18-month loan, while Krzysztof Piatek and Ze Luis are being considered to replace the injured Harry Kane.

Meanwhile, Christian Eriksen's list of suitors has increased, with Paris Saint-Germain also interested in the Danish midfielder.

• FOR someone who does not even have his own locker at Tottenham, Japhet Tanganga has already shown he has a lot in it.

  The defender followed up his outstanding Premier League debut in the defeat to Liverpool on Saturday with another impressive display in Tuesday’s FA Cup win over Middlesbrough.

  Not bad for a player so new to first-team football it is believed he does not even have his own locker in the Spurs dressing room yet.

• FRENCH FANCY

  PSG are reportedly ready to rival Inter Milan in the pursuit of Christian Eriksen.

  The wantaway Dane has been heavily linked with a move to the Serie A giants with some reports claiming they have tabled an offer of £8.5m last night.

  Spurs are believed to have rejected that bid for the 27-year-old, who becomes a free agent in June, and want double that fee.

  However, the Daily Mirror claim they will face huge competition from PSG for the playmaker.

  Their report states the French champions view the fee wanted by Spurs as a “bargain”.

• THE LEVY'S GONNA BREAK

  A 'Levy Out' banner was a surprising site at Tottenham's game against Middlesbrough last night.

  Based on Arsenal fans' banner calling for Arsene Wenger to resign towards the end of his tenure, the Spurs banner was even less complimentary about their chairman.

• SILENT TREATMENT

  Japhet Tanganga is so quiet that Jose Mourinho doesn't know his voice.

  He said: “I don't know his voice very well as he doesn't speak very much, but I knew that he would be ready for the challenge.

  “Of course, he will make his mistakes during the process, but he is a player for Tottenham during the future.”
