VICTORY in the Manchester derby capped off a superb week for Man Utd, having also defeated Jose Mourinho's Tottenham.

The Red Devils stunned Pep Guardiola's champions thanks to goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial – and will now turn their attention to AZ Alkmaar on Thursday night.

Meanwhile, with the January transfer window around the corner, the Red Devils are keeping tabs on Atletico Madrid's Saul Niguez and Leeds-born goal machine Erling Braut Haaland.

• MARCUS RASHFORD'S family have held talks with Barcelona, according to reports.

  FourFourTwo claim the England striker has no desire to move to Real Madrid, but his representatives did speak to the Catalans in spring.

  However, Barca chose not to make a bid for Rashford as they felt they could not afford him.

• SALZBURG wonderkid Erling Haaland has been warned to stay away from Man Utd by agent Mino Raiola, according to reports.

  The superagent has been heavily involved in previous United transfers, including those of Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

  But The Athletic understand that Raiola would much prefer his client Haaland to join a stepping-stone club in Europe rather than moving straight to Old Trafford.

• MARCUS RASHFORD has wowed fans with his muscly and toned physique after posting a topless picture of himself on Instagram.

  The Manchester United star has been in blistering form in recent weeks, and his picture drew admiring comments from fellow superstars like Ian Wright and Jofra Archer.

  The 22-year-old scored in huge wins over Tottenham and Manchester Citythis week, and has been playing at the top of his game.

  Archer even likened him to heavyweight champ Anthony Joshua.

  The England cricket star commented: “Thought this was aj for a second”.

  While Wright commented: “Mans ripped you know”.

  

• OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER has called on Manchester United's budding young stars to make the most of their upcoming Youth Cup campaign.

  Lincoln City provide the first test of the competition for United's youth prospects on Friday and Solskjaer, who will be in attendance at the game, says it is a good chance to develop.

  “I think it is a fantastic tournament,” he told the United website.

  “Sometimes in the Academy it is not always about winning, it is more about learning, but the FA Youth Cup is the one tournament where they have the pressure on them, when it is win or bust, and I think that is great for their education. 

  “They have got to be ready to play under pressure at this club and we have always prided ourselves on the FA Youth Cup.

  “That is the main priority for the kids as well. Friday 13th is going to be a lucky day! You need some luck, of course, but I believe in these boys and Neil Ryan. I like the way he handles his team.”

• JAMIE CARRAGHER rarely praises Manchester United. It's just not in his nature as a Liverpool legend.

  However, the Sky Sports pundit hailed United's first 30 minutes on Saturday as the "best anyone has played against Man City for three years."

  Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: “I think it is the best 30 minutes I have seen anyone play City in the past three years.

  “Liverpool at Anfield, certainly, but this was away.

  “I thought it was devastating and this was Manchester United at their best.

  “It's quality football at 100mph.”
