FRANK LAMPARD has just over a week to spend some of his £150m war chest, and appears to be growing frustrated with the club's lack of action in the transfer market.

The Blues boss looked far from impressed in his post-match press conference at Hull, but may finally have some good news if the Blues can secure the signing of Krzysztof Piatek.

  • LOST IN JAPAN

Goal have claimed that Pedro is a reported target for Japanese side Vissel Kobe.

It had been suggested that he could be on his way to the MLS, but a move to Asia could now be on the horizon.

Should he sign for Vissel Kobe, he would link up with Spanish compatriots Andres Iniesta and Sergi Samper.

  • HOW ABOUT MAT

Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic has stressed that the Blues must take their chances in front of goal if they want to have a successful season.

Speaking of the 2-1 FA Cup win against Hull on Saturday, he said: “It was a tough game, as we knew that it would be, but we need to score in the first half two more goals.

“That’s our problem in this moment but obviously we’re happy to go through.

“It was because we didn’t score on time – we had some chances and we didn’t use them. In training, we are working on it but we are still a young team, a new team, and we need to improve a lot.

“We need to take our chances, which in this moment we are not doing great, but we have time to improve and I am sure we will do.”

  • UPPING THE ANTE

N'Golo Kante is setting the bar for midfielders the world over as a “really annoying” rival to play against, according to Ilkay Gundogan.

Often the best players are the seen by the opposition as utter pests and the Manchester City ace feels Kante's energy and determination make him a nightmare to face.

Gundogan told SportBible: “N'Golo Kante is someone who's really annoying for a midfielder.

“For a midfielder like me who's into passing and controlling the game, it's not easy to play against someone like him.

“You feel like you're past him and then he just appears again.”

  • OLLIE OLLIE OLLIE!

The Blues could switch their attentions to Brentford's Ollie Watkins to bolster their front line.

Chelsea have been linked with moves for star names Edinson Cavani and Moussa Dembele this month.

Yet, they could instead bring in 24-year-old Ollie Watkins as competition for Tammy Abraham, according the Daily Star.

The striker has netted 17 goals in 27 games for the Bees this season.

But he could be one to target in the summer, as Frank Lampard sees Watkins a long-term star at Stamford Bridge.
