ALVARO MORATA has finally ended his Chelsea hell after Atletico Madrid agreed a £50million permanent transfer for the striker.
The Spaniard remains on loan at the Wanda Metropolitano for the 2019-20 campaign, after which he will sign a lasting contract on July 1, 2020.
Frank Lampard's side had threatened the La Liga giants with triggering the 26-year-old's recall clause unless they made his return to the Spanish capital permanent.
Morata had already begun pre-season training with Diego Simeone's men after openly revealing his ambition to remain at Los Rojiblancos.
After the news was announced by the club, he tweeted: “Happy. It's official now.
“Now I'll have time to return with work and goals for all the effort of the club and the affection of the fans. Thank you!!!”
The transfer finally ends his torrid two-year spell in west London following his then club-record £60m move from Real Madrid for in 2017.
