  • CHELSEA fans are calling for out of favour Marcos Alonso to start against Arsenal.

Alonso has not featured for Chelsea recently but did win a penalty in the 2-0 victory over Spurs before Christmas.

The left-back also has a history in matches against rivals Arsenal, scoring three goals in his last five appearances against the Gunners.

Chelsea wished Alonso a happy birthday on Twitter, and Blues fans flooded the comments to make it clear they want to see Alonso start Chelsea's final game of 2019.

  • CHELSEA are looking to the Championship to add to their youthful side.

Manager Frank Lampard knows the league well after leading Derby County to the play-off final last season.

According to the Mail Online, Lampard is interestedin QPR talisman Eberechi Eze and loanee Ben White who has been one of the stars of the season in Leeds United's defence.

Brighton are keen for White's loan to run until the end of the season, but reports suggest Chelsea are readying a £25million bid.

  • CESAR AZPILICUETA speaks about facing David Luiz and hoping to bounce back from Boxing Day defeat.

Talking to Chelsea's website, he said: “I have never played with Mikel Arteta,

“I know him because he is Spanish and he played for Arsenal but I don’t have any special relationship with him.

“For Arsenal it is a new beginning with a new coach but for us it is a massive game after losing against Southampton.

“It is a London derby and obviously we have to bounce back after the disappointing Boxing Day.

“When I arrived at Chelsea David was here, then he left for PSG,

“Then he came back and he is a player who was very important forChelsea as part of the squad which won the Champions League, two EuropaLeagues, the Premier League with Antonio Conte,

“But we know football changes and players move here andthere and now he has started a new chapter for him at Arsenal.

“On Sundayhe is going to be a rival and we are going to fight for our teams.”

  • FRANK LAMPARD has confirmed that Reece James will not feature against Arsenal tomorrow.

Speaking at his Boxing Day post-match news conference, Lampard said: “Reece James won’t [be fit to face Arsenal].

He has an ankle issue at the moment.”

James, 20, has impressed Chelsea fans this season after forcing his way into the side.

Many believe that James is a long term successor at right back to current club captain Cesar Azpilicueta.

  • FRANK LAMPARD could throw Mateo Kovacic into the firing line against Arsenal.

The Chelsea manager is desperate to banish the memory of the desperate 2-0 home defeat to Southampton on Boxing Day.

Lampard's men have won just two of their past seven Premier League games – but remain fourth in the table.

And they will be hungry to ruin Mikel Arteta's homecoming to the Emirates in his first game there as Arsenal boss.

To do so, Lampard will almost certainly revert to a 4-3-3 formation and look to deploy former Real Madrid man Kovacic in midfield – who fans are loving this season.
