IT'S a new year and Premier League clubs will be hoping to ring it in with some new faces as the transfer window continues.

There have already been some big moves across Europe and a number of English clubs could be very busy, including Aston Villa – who are desperate for a striker.

• REAL MADRID are monitoring Lille’s star trio ahead of sensational summer raid, according to reports.

  Spanish publication Marca report that Bernabeu scouts have been sent to France to keep an eye on the Ligue 1 hotshots.

  Among those linked with a move is 21-year-old Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen, who has bagged 10 goals in 18 appearances so far this season.

  Also on Zinedine Zidane’s wishlist is French deep-lying midfielder and former Paris Saint-Germain ace Boubakary Soumare.

  Gabriel Dos Santos Magalhaes is the final member of the trio.

• CHRIS SMALLING has reportedly agreed to join Roma on a permanent deal.

  According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the defender has told the Italian side that he wants to make his move permanent.

  It is understood that Roma are keen to tie him down for at least another season at the Stadio Olimpico.

  The former Maidstone United ace has advised his representatives to complete the deal.

• AS MONACO have signed Serbian defender Strahinja Pavlovic from Partizan Belgrade.

• WEST HAM are in talks to sign Manchester United target Gedson Fernandes, according to reports.

  Sky Sports claim the Hammers are negotiating an 18-month loan deal with an option to buy as David Moyes looks to make his first signing.

  The 20-year-old has a £100m release clause but has fallen out with the coach at club Benfica, who have accepted they have no chance of a deal near that figure.

  And he excited fans recently by adding an 'Irons' emoji to his name on an Instagram post on Thursday.

  Fernandes is said to prefer a move to London over Manchester due to family reasons.

  West Ham have also been linked with Inter's Gabriel Barbosa – better known as Gabigol.

  The Brazilian forward is reportedly available for £17m and spent last season on loan with Flamengo, helping them to the Brazilian Serie A and Copa Libertadores double.

• SHEFFIELD UNITED have confirmed the signing of Jack Rodwell.
