Mother, 28, who helped deliver her best friend’s baby only to discover her OWN husband is the father says she’s forgiven them – and even let her pal share their home after the birth

A woman who was the birthing partner for her best friend has revealed her agony at finding out weeks later that her own cheating husband was the father of the baby she helped to deliver. 

Hailey Custer, 28, from Wickenburg, Arizona, says she was left heartbroken after finding out her husband of six years, Travis Bowling, 36, had allegedly cheated on her with her close pal.

The mother-of-four says after being there ‘every step of the way’ to support her unnamed best friend during the birth – including wearing the hospital’s ‘daddy wrist band’ – she was devastated when she spotted a birth defect on the baby’s neck that was identical to one her husband has. 

After confronting the pair about her suspicions that her partner had fathered the baby, her worst fears were confirmed – and she now claims Bowling had cheated on her with up to 30 women during their marriage.

The 28-year-old says she was excited to help deliver her friend’s baby – but had no idea that it was actually her husband’s child after the alleged cheating scandal.

She also claims her now ex-husband cheated on her with at least 30 different woman throughout the duration of their marriage – and even had two children with two different women while married to Hailey.

Hailey, who works in administration said: ‘I heard rumours that my friend was pregnant and homeless, so I reached out to her. I felt the need to help her.

‘We are all charismatic people, so we all had that nature to be charismatic around each other and make jokes. I didn’t see anything there. I was very naïve so I just didn’t think it would be possible for someone to do that.

‘We had just got home from the hospital and I was changing the baby when she turned her neck the birth defect popped out. When they’re babies it is really hard to see, and I wasn’t looking for it.

‘I felt it and was like ‘ok’, this shock came over me.

‘When I found out my friend was standing next to me, I looked at her and you could just tell. She couldn’t say anything, she just dropped her head and looked to the floor, and I just knew.

‘There were no words that were said, I just knew. ‘I was in a lot of shock in the beginning I couldn’t even process what had happened, it was almost like a stage of grief.

‘Like you have your shock, your anger and you come to the conclusion that this is actually real life, this is actually happening.’

Hailey said she was excited to help her best friend – who she does not wish to name – give birth and even helped deliver the baby and give them their first bath.

She said: ‘In the hospital before I found out, I stepped into that father figure role.

At the hospital, she even wore the ‘daddy wrist band’ while being her friend’s birthing partner but a rare neck defect – passed on to the little girl by her husband – eventually exposed their affair

However, she says as time has passed, she’s decided to have a ‘cordial’ relationship with her ex-husband

The admin worker shared her story on TikTok, with her original video gaining over 3.4million views

‘I was there for her every step of the way. Even in the hospital I wore the daddy wrist band, when she got her epidural, she laid on me.

‘I actually gave the baby her first bath.’

After the heartbreaking ordeal, Hailey has found forgiveness within herself and plans on continuing her friendship with the friend and having a cordial relationship with her ex-husband for the sake of her children.

She explained: ‘For me, I was in a state of shock for a little bit. I walked outside when I first found out and just prayed.

‘I kept hearing the words over and over in my head, ‘bigger picture’. For me that meant, stop with your tunnel vision.

‘Now we have this innocent child who had no say in this whole situation, you have someone who doesn’t have anywhere to go, who has no family, we’re not going to kick them to the streets.

‘I kept thinking of my kids, at the end of the day that is their blood sibling and I’m not going to be the one who causes harm to that child. So, she ended up staying with us.’

Hailey, who shared her story on TikTok with her original video gaining over 3.4million views, opened up about some of the comments she’s been receiving

She said: ‘I’ve had one or two comments who are obviously men and narcissistic who said ‘well if you took care of your man, he wouldn’t have cheated.

Forgiveness: She says if she doesn’t forgive the pair then she’ll end up in more pain

Deciding to take in her friend after the birth in spite of what had happened has helped the family move on…and she intends to keep their friendship going

‘A lot of the comments though have been in support of me but there’s been some heat towards my friend which I try to shut down as soon as possible because that was not my goal.

‘It’s got 3.4 million views now and has just blown up. It’s huge for everyone to know that I found forgiveness for myself. I’ve had to find forgiveness for myself and for the children.

‘That’s the main point, you can walk through anything in life, and you can find forgiveness it just heals you from the inside out.

‘When you don’t forgive yourself it’s like you drinking poison and wanting them to die. When I forgive for myself, it means I’m forgiving because I can’t stay sick anymore.’

Travis Bowling and Hailey’s friend have declined to comment.
