Shoppers were left divided over a definitive list revealing the fruit and veg that should be stored in the fridge – and what should be kept at room temperature.

It claims you should not refrigerate tomatoes, cucumbers, or apples but figs, carrots and berries should always be kept in the fridge.

The post racked up dozens of comments from confused followers, who disagreed with the directions given.
Potatoes seemed to be one of the main sources of contention, with one person writing: ‘I refrigerate potatoes. They last triple the time!’.
Agreeing, another said: ‘I always put peppers cucumber potatoes sweet potatoes and garlic in the fridge’.
Elsewhere many revealed that they keep their cucumbers and tomatoes in the fridge with one writing: ‘I’ve always put my peppers and cucumber in the fridge!’.
Another questioned: ‘Why not cucumbers and tomatoes in fridge? I always take a tomato and a wedge of cucumber out a half hour before using them!’.

Agreeing, another argued: ‘Warm cucumber and avacado is wrong’, while one added: ‘Who wants warm tomatoes and cucumber on their salad tho’.
And elsewhere one even said: ‘I keep all my fruit and veg in the fridge what a rebel!’
Meanwhile one woman revealed she keeps almost all of her fruit and vegetables in the fridge.
She said: ‘Mmmm the only things I don’t stick in the fridge are bananas and potatoes’.
