Neon liner is a seriously fun eye makeup look, although you’d be forgiven for thinking that it’s only appropriate for young festival goers and the cast of Euphoria. But the truth is that brightly-coloured eyeliner can be a totally wearable look for fully-grown adults too – as model and presenter Vogue Williams has just showcased.
Taking to Instagram stories, the 36 year old shared a couple of behind-the-scenes snaps with her 938k followers. In one, she can be seen wearing liner in a gorgeous lilac hue, while another shows her sporting a bold neon pink shade.
The looks were created by Vogue’s go-to makeup artist, Buster Knight, and judging by the fact that designer Joanne Hynes was tagged in one of the posts, we think they might have been part of a shoot for the latter’s fashion brand.
Vogue has proven herself to be very on it with the beauty looks of the moment, also jumping on the “expensive blonde” trend that everybody from Jessica Alba to Selling Sunset’s Chrishell Stause has been sporting lately.
On her return from holiday the star visited Larry King’s salon in London to get her signature blonde shade refreshed and, in her own words, successfully swapped her “rooty” hair for a multi-dimensional, expensive-looking colour. She later had extensions fitted by her go-to hairstylist, Hadley Yates, in a return to longer hair.
“I went in with rotten, rooty hair and a bob, and saw my lovely Harriet who is just the best at colouring blonde in London. I then saw Hadley. He did a fantastic job, long hair is back,” Vogue says, swishing around her new golden blonde lengths.
Despite its name, the trend isn't actually referring to how much money you spend at the salon on your hair colour. "The expensive blonde trend is all about hair that is high in energy, dimension, and detail,” says Nick Drewe, trends expert at WeThrift. "It’s defined as a warm shade of blonde that incorporates fewer shadows in the hair as opposed to just one set colour."
We wonder which beauty trend Vogue will jump on next!
