Tracy Morgan, who grew up in Tompkins Houses in Brooklyn, showed some love to his old neighborhood last week.
The comic surprised attendees at a ribbon-cutting for a new community center at the nearby Marcy Houses. “When Tracy showed up, the crowd went nuts,” a source said.
We’re told City Councilman Robert Cornegy is pals with Morgan and invited him to the ceremony, where the actor presented him with a giant chain from “The Last O.G.,” his TBS show that filmed in the area.
“It felt like I won the old-school Brooklyn version of the Oscars,” Cornegy, who is running for borough president, told us.
