The much-memed Baby Yoda from “The Mandalorian” and the penguin-like Porgs from “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” may look cute — but there’s an ugly battle brewing over which one is cuter.
“Rise Of Skywalker” star Daisy Ridley, 27, delivered the cold hard truth on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” Monday night, sparking a flurry of responses from the YouTubeverse.
“Baby Yoda,” the actress responded to the host’s cuteness query without hesitation.
“I’m not a big fan of the Porgs,” she admitted. Ridley told Fallon, 45, she grew tired of being constantly probed about the roly-poly aliens during interviews on “The Last Jedi” set.
“I was like, ‘the Porgs were there for a day,’ ” Ridley exclaimed in mock-exasperation. “I was there for six months! I worked hard.”
Turns out her divisive opinion is held by many Star Warriors across the YouTube peanut gallery. “Baby Yoda beats any other character in the Star Wars universe,” seconded one Fallon fan in the YouTube comments.
“It’s so funny that Baby Yoda is getting more hype than ‘Rise of Skywalker,’ ” quipped another.
Indeed, the wide-eyed kin of the galaxy’s iconic green mentor has become quite an online sensation as of late. Last week, Disney announced that it was launching a plethora of Baby Yoda accessories just in time for Christmas.
“Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker” (which was almost disastrously spoiled earlier this week) hits theaters December 20.
