A newly-wed couple who's wedding was ruined by someone taking a dump on the floor has launched a podcast to find the culprit.
When Helen McLaughlin and Karen Whitehouse married in August 2018 they expected to remember the day forever. And they did – but not for the reasons they expected.
“What happen was, I had the best day of my life… married the woman of my dreams … but one of our guests actually defecated on the floor, missing the toilet bowl by quite a distance," Karen explained.
“We naturally want to know who was audacious enough to commit this most heinous crime”.

As a jazz band played on the deck of the boat in Amsterdam they had hired for their reception, Karen went downstairs to the loo and found “a perfectly-shaped almost ‘comedy’ sh*t”.
Their search for the culprit has spawned a cult hit podcast with millions of fans.
After catching sight of the rogue poo, Karen said: “To be honest I just blocked it out of my mind and had to turn around and try and enjoy what was left of the wedding.
“I think what most couples do after their wedding, they enjoy a romantic evening. But Helen and I basically went to the hotel room and got up the guest list and started going through who could have done it”.

The couple enlisted friend Lauren Kilby to help with the investigation, and over 13 episodes they questioned all the guests to get to the bottom of the mystery.
Despite the podcast’s jokey tone, Lauren explained that she was taking it very seriously: “I have enrolled on an online private investigation course from which I have received the introductory email.”
While the 'Who Sh*t on the Floor at My Wedding?' podcast ended in 2021 with an epic two-hour finale, it’s enjoying a sudden new surge in interest with tens of thousands of people tuning in to find out exactly who it was that relieved themselves on the floor at Karen and Helen’s wedding.

But sadly, despite questioning all the guests, consulting forensic experts, and even bring a lie-detector into the mix, the team still haven’t solved the mystery.
For a long time wedding guest Henk remained the prime suspect, because he had been hanging around near the ladies’ loo, and was later seen cleaning up the mess.
“How the f***k do you explain a fully-grown man standing in the ladies’ bathroom during a wedding having food and drinks delivered to him?” Lauren quite reasonably asked.
But Helen said he was a “hero” for cleaning up the poo and couldn't believe he was the culprit.
Lauren thought that now would be the perfect time for the phantom pooper to come forward, saying: “Look what you’ve done, You’ve created a global following. It’s time.”
