Coronation Street is still going strong since its initial launch in 1960. One of its main characters is Alya Nazir, co-owner of Speed Daal and ex-girlfriend of Ryan Connor. Alya is played by Sair Khan. Who is the actor and how rich is she?
Sair Khan has an impressive fortune thanks to her successful career as an actor.
The 33-year-old has appeared in multiple TV programmes since becoming a familiar face on the small screen when she joined the cast of Coronation Street in 2014.
Sair has an estimated net worth of £4million, according to celebrity sites.
A contestant on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here in 2018, it is thought that Sair was earning around £40,000 for her time on the popular talent show.
Thanks to her wealth, Sair lives a luxurious lifestyle and often posts photos of her holidays and her red-carpet outfits on Instagram.
The actor is originally from Leeds but now lives in Manchester.
Sair’s apartment is kitted out with opulent interiors and snug rugs.
Photos on Instagram show a simple but stylish space with cream sofas, white shelves, plants, and candles.
Sair became interested in acting at a young age.
She attended the National Youth Theatre from the age of 17 and made her TV debut in 2011.
The part was a one-off role as receptionist Nina Chopra in the BBC medical soap opera Doctors.
Then came Coronation Street in 2014, which rocketed Sair to fame and made her a household name.
The actor has remained a regular character on the show since.
In 2015, Sair was nominated for the Best Newcomer award at the National Television Awards.
Later, in 2018, Sair participated in the eighteenth series of I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.
The 33-year-old was the third celebrity to be voted out of the show.
Sair has also appeared on Celebrity Juice, Hey Tracey, Sink or Swim, and Rolling In It.
As for her personal life, Sair was in a relationship with fellow actor Simon Lennon before the pair split in 2019.
Simon is best known for appearing in BBC drama Our Girl as Private Harry “Brains” Whiggery.
He also plays kayak instructor Ben in Emmerdale and appeared in Shonda Rhimes’ hit show Bridgerton.
After Sair and Simon ended their relationship, Sair told Fabulous magazine last year: “I’ve definitely dipped my toe into the dating world in some way shape or form during lockdown.”
“I am independent and happy with everything going on with work, family and friends. Having said that, it would be a welcome addition to have someone new so, if anyone wants to slide in my DMs, then go ahead. But I’m not chasing it,” the Coronation Street star added.
