Prince William took Prince George to a Premier League match at Villa Park, Birmingham today. The Prince of Wales is a long-time fan of Aston Villa and his eldest son George also grew up loving the football club.
The father-son duo were photographed beside Aston Villa chief executive Christian Purslow in the stands during the match.
William and George appeared to be mirroring each other’s body language according to a behaviour expert, who spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk.
Body language expert Judi James said: “Mirroring, or postural echo, is a form of mimicry that can signal like-minded thinking, empathy, and even admiration or hero-worship.”
This is certainly what William and George looked like today as they both held their hands over their mouths and brought their arms over their heads in very similar movements.
Judi continued: “When George was smaller he could be seen deliberately copying his dad, looking very much like the chip off the old block.
“Now he is older, that mimicry looks from these pictures to have intensified.
“He dresses like William and the pair respond to the sporting action in ways that are at times identical, even when those responses look spontaneous.”
Both William and George appeared to be wearing light blue collared shirts, accompanied by navy blue jumpers.

They were slightly different as William’s jumper was more of a polo-neck style with buttons, whereas George wore a ribbed circular neck jumper.
In addition, the father-son duo both wore navy blue chinos to team with their blue tops.
The nine-year-old Prince could also be seen holding his Aston Villa FC scarf with pride.
Judi added: “What’s interesting is that their body language copying looks subliminal and mutual.
“This means that William is now echoing his son as much as George is him.
“This suggests a duo bonding that is based on friendship as well as father-son dynamics.
“The way they tilt their heads together to talk reflects this sense of companionship that both probably enjoy.”
