Love Island star Olivia Bowen has revealed her brand new pond-free garden after weeks of hard work to try and create the perfect play area for her son.
The stunning transformation was completed on Wednesday 19 October, with Olivia sharing photos of the process on Instagram as she explained exactly what had been kept and what had been scrapped during the garden overhaul.
In the first image of the garden since it’s transformation, Olivia revealed that the uneven ground had now been replaced with a huge expanse of perfectly flat and well manicured grass, with the expanse of greenery even perfect for any future games of football.
An outdoor seating area could also been seen in the image, giving a clear distinction between the space for entertaining and for playing, allowing both Olivia and her husband Alex Bowen a place to supervise son Abel as he grows and enjoys more independent play, without needing to be with him constantly.
In a post shared on instagram, Olivia wrote: “Officially pond free! Look I would love to say I’m going to miss it but I would be lying, it was an eye sore.
“I’m so happy to have fresh flat grass – we are BUZZING to get to have a proper play area on this next year.
“Our garden is so uneven so having this is just perfect for Abel in the future with swings, bikes & football goals I’m sure lol. 5 a side anyone?!”
Olivia also went on to reveal that the entirety of the original water feature hadn’t been removed, as she and Alex had decided to transform part of the old waterfall into a brand new koi pond, albeit at a safe distance away from the new lawn.
She added: “If you can spy to the far right, you’ll see we’ve left the waterfall part of the old pond, this is about 6ft deep so we’re going to turn this into our new koi pond!!!
“I’m SO excited as although we’re not going to miss the old pond, we would of missed the fish!
"So we’ve kept them ready to put them in their new home in a few weeks."
While reiterating her future plans for the space, Olivia also wrote: “We’ll then be fencing off a little bark covered area surrounding it with a bench & duck house Paying homage to the pond before it.”
As well as the new photos of her stunning garden, Olivia also shared a glimpse of how it had looked before, with the transformation unmistakable as she turned a previously haphazard space into something perfectly suited for their growing family.
Alex and Olivia first met while appearing on Love Island back in 2016. Just one year later, they became engaged, before finally tying the knot in 2018.
Together, they welcomed their first child, son Abel, in June 2022.
