Our youngest son is 16 and when we finally separated, all the kids agreed it was for the best. Our youngest even remarked on how peaceful it was in the house.
Fast forward three years and I have met the most wonderful man. I am 43 and he is a 44-year-old divorcee.
He treats me well and tries to engage with my children.
My daughters like him but my boy treats him with total contempt. He comes out with expressions such as, “You’re not my dad” and, “I don’t have to listen to you”.
