DEAR DEIDRE: MY partner leaves me to do and pay for everything – even though I’ve just given birth to our baby.
I do all the housework and I’m exhausted but he had a go at me for not hearing our daughter cry one night.
I’ve suggested he get up with her sometimes but he makes excuses.
He is 27 and I’m 28. I’m paying all the bills from my maternity pay. He says he’s not giving me any keep because he’s saving for a special holiday for us, but he finds money for cannabis.
He’s not affectionate either. I love him but I don’t know that I want to be with him any more.
Maybe this is just the baby blues but our relationship has changed so much since I had our girl.

DEIDRE SAYS: A new baby is wonderful but also a huge stress and learning curve.
Tell him you two need a serious talk. List all the jobs that need doing and ask him to sign up for which ones he is going to take on as his responsibility.
Buy him the great book for fathers, Commando Dad by Neil Sinclair.
