Most people enjoy a greasy kebab, laden with garlic sauce, salad, pickled chilli peppers and enrobed in a soft naan bread or pitta.
The after-drinks kebab is an institution.
However, one well-known fact is that this Turkish dish, modified for the British high street, isn’t the healthiest of meals.
Luckily, some smart-thinking mums have put together a recipe for their very own at-home fakeaway kebab – and they’re claiming it’s just as tasty as the real version.
On the Facebook group Slow Cooker Recipe & Tips, mums have been sharing snaps of their fast-food hack.
They start by adding seasoning to lamb mince before moulding it into a loaf shape, wrapping it in tin foil and adding it to the slow cooker.
You can buy 250g of 20% fat lamb mince for just £2.60 at Sainsbury's.

For the spices we would suggest using a few teaspoons of mixed herbs, onion granules, garlic powder, salt, pepper and cumin or paprika.
Then the mums recommend cooking it on low for five to six hours or on high for three to four.
When you unwrap your lamb loaf it should look a little bit like a mini version of the giant spinning doner kebab.
You can then go ahead and use a potato peeler to shed the kebab into strips – as you would get from the takeaway shop.
One mum revealed her method and said: “Sooo I used a potato peeler to shred the kebab.
“And the salad is just standard salad. But the red cabbage and slaw type stuff is brought from Tesco’s. £1 a pot!”
One grateful fan wrote: “I followed this last night and it was wonderful. Thank you.”
A second said: “I had this tonight and it was delicious”.

Once you’ve shredded your met go ahead and add your salad, we like iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber and red onion.
Plus, garlic sauce or tzatziki, mmmm.
