While NYC has yet to have its boots buried in the dirty slush we’ve come to know as snow this winter season, Mr.Purple is already prepared for the flurries with their Veuve Clicquot Winter Chalet pop-up on the 15th floor rooftop of Hotel Indigo in LES.

The reservations-only, seasonal pop-up boasts a cozy interior with limited seating without feeling cramped, a mandatory request for those who still feel a bit uncertain about dining out as the pandemic carries on.

Ski-lodge decor abounds in the heated globe, featuring fur-lined seating, ambient lighting and Veuve Clicquot-branded skis that set the tone for a toasty, intimate evening.

Lite bites included some pretty well seasoned short rib empanadas, as well as your traditional loaded nachos and truffle fries that were, surprisingly, the highlight of the meal.

The Veuve Clicquot-branding also worked its magic, as I ordered a glass of the classic champagne while others got into the spirit with apple cider mimosas and a a well-balanced, classic old fashioned.

The atmosphere would’ve certainly benefited from some ambiance-enhancing music of the season, as Chalet patrons are mere feet away from those living it up inside with a soundtrack as varied as the drink menu. Of course, for a night of quiet catch-ups, one-on-one conversation and views that won’t quit, this is your spot.
