A man believes he’s found the “world’s biggest Hula Hoop”.
Rowan Umland, 19, was gobsmacked after buying a packet of his favourite salt and vinegar flavoured Hula Hoops in his local Sainsbury’s.
When opening the packaging, he found a crisp that measured close to a whopping 10cm long.
The student, from Peckham, south London, is adamant it’s the biggest Hula Hoop ever as it’s dwarfed the average-sized snack and beat previous contenders.
So to preserve the rare find, he’s resisting the urge to eat it by keeping it safe in a box.
He’ll only give the crisp up if a collector forks out for it in the future.
But for now, he’s keeping the Hula Hoop safe in case there’s chance of a Guinness World Record.
Rowan said: "I opened the packet and it was the first thing I saw – I couldn't believe it.
"I did consider eating it for a split second because I was hungry, but I thought it might give people a laugh so I put it to one side.
"I love Hula Hoops and I've eaten hundreds of bags in my lifetime, but I've never seen anything like this before.
"It's got to be one of the biggest – if not the biggest – in the world!”
He added: “I’m definitely not going to eat it, and it's being kept safely in a box – who knows who might want it one day? A collector, a museum?
"I've already had to tell my family 'hands off'!"
Rowan isn't the only punter to find a huge Hula Hoop in their packet.
Back in 2014, a 31-year-old man who found a 3in long tube and put it on eBay.
Then in 2019, an eight-year-old lad beat this record when he discovered a 3in crisp as he enjoyed an after school snack.
