Kevin Spacey once sat atop the list of most highly esteemed actors in Hollywood. His performances were monumentally impactful on the industry, and he commanded a salary that was as significant as his on-screen presence was, and rightfully so. For many years, anyone that was even remotely associated with Kevin Spacey’s projects was finding huge success. That all came crumbling down around him when victims began coming forward with heavy accusations of sexual misconduct against Spacey. In mere moments, the entire legacy he had built for decades came crumbling down around him. He now realizes the depths of his errors. The disgraced actor continues to face penalties resulting from his actions, the most recent of which involves Spacey having to face legal damages to the tune of $31. million.

Kevin Spacey’s star was rising high, and he was considered one of the most veteran actors of his time. Most would have never even been able to imagine that his career would even fumble, let alone completely come apart at the seams. Sadly, his reputation has now been smeared, and his legal woes are far from over.

MRC has just come out on top of this legal matter, with the judge ruling in their favor, holding Kevin Spacey responsible for paying them $31 million in damages, resulting from his inappropriate on-set conduct. His behavior is said to have been a direct breach of the code of ethics and code of conduct clauses in his contract with MRC, and they claim they suffered greatly as a result of his failures.

Arbitrator Bruce Friedman filed a 46-page ruling on this matter, stating that the courts have ‘awarded’ MRC $29.5 million in damages and $1.4 million in attorneys fees and costs.

This all stemmed from MRC’s motion which stated they had found that Stacey had “repeatedly breached his contractual obligations to provide his services ‘in a professional manner’ and ‘consistent with [MRC’s] reasonable directions, practices, and policies,’ including MRC’s Harassment Policy—all without the knowledge of MRC.”

As far as the damages go, MRC insists that they lost an astronomical amount of money by “forcing rewrites of the entirety season six and truncating it from 13 episodes to just eight,” all thanks to Spacey’s misconduct. Eight crew members came forward with heavy accusations against Kevin Spacey during this investigation.
