Camilla and Kate often seem worlds apart in their fashion choices.

The Queen generally opts for more neutral tones while the Princess of Wales favours bold, bright colours.

But their senses of style are not as different as they might first appear. And it’s not just down to a shared love of countryside chic.

Because the two have dressed a remarkably similar way on a number of occasions – from polka dots to green pussy bows. At times, it is almost as if Camilla, Kate’s step-mother-in-law, has been taking notes!

Camilla  and Kate were seen twinning while on outdoor visits. Kate wore a Dubarry jacket and Penelope Chilvers Boots in Dublin, 2020 while Camilla was in a Musto ‘whisper’ jacket and Dubarry boots in that same year

The Queen Consort and the Princess of Wales wore similar red coat dresses with elaborate matching hats. Camilla wore a Stewart Parvin coat dress and Kate wore a Catherine Walker outfit

While on royal tours, the pair were seen wearing a similar blue Shalwar Kameez. Camilla was seen wearing the outfit while on tour in Brunei in 2017, while Kate was wearing the outfit, designed by Catherine Walker in Pakistan in 2019

One of the most popular items, seemingly loved by both women, is a coat dress.

In 2016, Kate wore a bold red Catherine Walker dress coat while attending the installation of the new Garter Knights, paired with a Lock & Co hat in the same colour.

A few years later in 2021, Camilla was seen wearing a similar ensemble to open the Welsh Senedd in Cardiff.

Taking inspiration from Kate, she paired the bright dress with a matching feathered hat.

On another occasion, the royal fashion ‘twins’ were seen wearing a similar boot and jacket combo while taking a stroll through the great outdoors.

Kate, while visiting Teagasc Research Farm during her and Prince William’s visit to Dublin, embraced her countryside style, wearing a green Dubarry jacket with Penelope Chilvers boots in 2020.

A few months later, Camilla stepped out at The National Arboretum in a similar fashion, wearing a Musto ‘whisper’ jacket and Dubarry boots.

The pair were both seen wearing grey tweed coat dresses. Camilla wore the outfit first in 2008 while on a charity dog walk in Green Park whereas Kate wore her Catherine Walker coat in 2019 while visiting the Foundling Museum, London

Kate and Camilla have been seen wearing floral, blue summer dresses. Camilla wore her Fiona Clare dress to open the British Flowers Week in 2021, whereas Kate wore her Prada dress while visiting the Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace in 2017

The pair were once again twinning, when they wore similar style coats, both in a shade of green with matching hats. Camilla wore a Mr Roy military coat and a Philip Tracey hat while Kate was at a St Patrick’s Day parade in London wearing Catherine Walker in a similar style

The royals have also been spotted in similar evening attire.

In 2017, while attending the Royal Variety Performance in London, Kate wore a sky blue, jewel encrusted dress designed by Jenny Packham, and a few years later in 2021, Camilla wore a similar style dress, designed by Bruce Oldfield.

While Camilla often seems to lean on Kate’s fashion feats, the Princess of Wales has also taken inspiration from her elder.

While on royal tours, the pair were seen wearing a similar blue Shalwar Kameez.
