Kate Hudson defended her mom Goldie Hawn for being labeled “difficult” and “complicated” in Hollywood.

“She had to really fight for a lot of these movies to be made [and] was seen by a lot of people as difficult and complicated because she had a point of view,” Hudson said of her mom’s Hollywood career on Tuesday’s episode of the “Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa” SiriusXM podcast.

Hudson, 43, added, “She decided to tell people that told her to stay in her lane to go f—k themselves and basically started producing her own movies, which wasn’t happening at the time.”

Ripa, 52, pointed out how “funny” it is that women are often dubbed “difficult” and “complicated” for just having opinions.

“That’s right,” Hudson agreed, explaining that she recently encountered someone who had issues working with the “First Wives Club” star.

“He was sort of saying that she was challenging and I remember thinking, ‘You know, that’s funny, but was she right about what you thought was her being difficult?’” she recalled. “And he was like, ‘Oh yeah, I mean she was definitely right. The whole script needed a complete rewrite.’”

Hudson continued, “She really was just trying to say, ‘Hey guys we should probably relook at the script’ … And that is considered complicated. Especially in the ’70s and ’80s in Hollywood.”

The “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” actress expressed her admiration for her 77-year-old mother for never giving up.

“I saw her strength. I saw her conviction. She’s so determined. I mean she’s really unbelievable,” Hudson said, adding that she was proud of her mom for never giving up on the foundation Hawn started 20 years ago, MindUp, which aims to teach children how to manage stress.

“She was on the cutting edge of this and she never gave up,” Hudson added. “Twenty years now and she’s finally getting her sort of kudos for what she’s been creating but she doesn’t let up.”

The “Glass Onion” star said she is “blessed” to have a mom like Hawn.

“I don’t even know what I must’ve done in a past life to be born to her as a mother,” Hudson said.

While the Fabletics founder gushed over her mom, Ripa couldn’t help but praise the “Almost Famous” alum for being such a “grounded” celebrity.

“She’s one of the few people that I know from my talk show who I’ve seen out and about and we have a mutual friend and we’ve had dinners together and what you see is what you get,” the “Live” host said. “There’s no fakeness. It’s not like a Hollywood facade. She’s just a really good normal nice girl.”

The “Overboard” star shares Kate and son Oliver, 46, with ex-husband Bill Hudson, 73, whom Hawn was married to from 1976 to 1982. She also shares son Wyatt, 36, with current partner Kurt Russell, 72.
