A celebrity hairstylist who works with the Kardashians has revealed the ‘right’ way to hold a curling iron and wand that will completely transform the way your hair looks.
Jen Atkin, 43, posted a helpful TikTok last week in which she demonstrated her go-to tips for using the popular hair utensils.
She informed her viewers: ‘I’m gonna show you the right way to hold your tools, to get the same look on each side of your head, cause I promise you, you’re doing it wrong.’
Jen believes that following her hacks will help give your locks volume in the form of ‘really nice loose waves.’

She advised to ‘have the cord always facing up’ before she took a section of her own hair to demonstrate.
‘You’re gonna wrap your hair if you’re holding it vertically… but the butt is always up facing up.’
She proceeded to switch hands and showcase the technique on the other side, in an effort to make her hair ‘look uniformed.’
Jen then held her curling iron to create a ‘nice loose wave or bend’ but admitted that the process is ‘different’ from a wand.
Unlike her first recommendation, she suggested this time having ‘the butt down’ instead.
She then showed her 241,000 followers how she creates a ‘spiral bend to get a really nice loose wave.’
