Avengers star Jeremy Renner has posted a video of himself on social media four days after he was run over by a 6500-kilogram snow plough on New Year’s Day near his home in Reno, Nevada.
Renner was helping a stranded family member who had gotten a vehicle stuck in snow following a powerful winter storm. When Renner got out of his snow plough, otherwise known as a PistenBully, the machine rolled forward. Renner was run over when he tried to stop the vehicle by getting back into the driver’s seat.

In his second social media post in days, Renner shared a video of himself in hospital with his sister and mother, saying that after a bad day in the intensive care unit they had given him an “amazing spa day”.
Despite being beaten and bruised Renner and his sister joke about him looking “so sexy” and the actor says it’s “the first shower in definitely a week or so”.
Renner’s first post was on January 3, two days after the accident, where he posted a photo of himself with the caption: ‘Thank you all for your kind words. I’m too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all.’
Celebrities rushed to throw their support behind Renner and wish him well, including fellow Avengers stars Chris Hemsworth, who replied saying ‘Speedy recovery buddy. Sending love your way!’ and Chris Evans who said ‘Tough as nails. Love you buddy’.
The accident left the Hawkeye actor in a critical but stable condition with chest and orthopedic injuries. He is now recovering in the intensive care unit at a Reno hospital following surgery.
Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam held a press conference on Tuesday afternoon (Pacific time). “We are still conducting interviews and processing items from the scene,” Balaam said at the time. “We believe it was a tragic accident … we do not suspect any foul play.”
Balaam confirmed that Renner was the only person involved, and said that they had seized the actor’s snow plough to check it for any mechanical failures.
“He was being a great neighbour and he was ploughing those roads for his neighbours,” Balaam said.

“He [Renner] is an honorary deputy sheriff.
“He has had a huge impact, not only in this office, in helping us with our outreach … but throughout the community he has been very generous. He is one of those individuals who most of the time you don’t know he is doing it, but he has made a tremendous impact on this community.”
Balaam said that Renner also participated in the annual ‘Shop with the Sheriff’ event which pairs children referred by a local non-profit agency with sheriffs to shop at a local Walmart.
“They [the kids] know exactly who he is, and they call him Hawkeye, and they are super excited. Even sometimes the parents may be a little more excited than the kids,” Balaam said. “For us that’s a great thing, shop with the Sheriff, when we do that, and to see those kids and the impact he has.”
