Have you been desperately missing your daily trip to Starbucks? Who knew waiting in line with strangers would so quickly become something to look back on with wistful nostalgia.
But according to a company press release, Starbucks has now reopened over 85% of their company-operated stores across the U.S. and plans to have 90% open by early June—though there may be modified hours and changes in the services available at various locations. You can also order delivery via Uber Eats in 48 states.
This is all very good news indeed for those who need a fix—but what we found most interesting in said release was the announcement of the Starbucks summer 2020 menu. The first thing that caught our eye was a refreshing-looking pink concoction—the Iced Guava Passionfruit Drink, which we anticipate seeing on Instagram feeds far and wide from now until Labor Day. It’s a nondairy combo of the flavors of guava, passionfruit, pineapple, and ginger that is then hand-shaken with coconut milk and ice for a “smooth and creamy beverage to uplift your day.”
Just look at that beauty.
Starbucks also announced the return of the S’mores Frappuccino, but only for a limited time—in case you’re in the mood for a drink that can double as a dessert. Just listing the ingredients is making us crave something sugary: marshmallow-infused whipped cream; milk chocolate sauce; a creamy blend of vanilla, coffee, milk and ice; even more marshmallow whipped cream; and a graham cracker crumble.
If you can’t get to (or order from) your local ’Bucks right now, there are also ways to recreate those delicious macchiatos and Frappuccinos from the comfort of your very own kitchen—and it’s definitely not as complicated as you might think.
In the meantime, our money’s still on the Iced Guava Passionfruit Drink to become the next dalgona coffee in terms of internet fame in summer 2020.
