A horrible couple of years have made me look at my life in a whole new light.
Why should I only have sex with one man (my long-time boyfriend) when there are so many gorgeous guys out there? Who decided that a vibrant, sexy woman like me should be tied down?
I’ve tried to explain to my partner that I love him but need to sleep around, but he doesn’t get it. He rants that I should be grateful to him for sticking with me during my darkest days.
But recent events have made me realise life is precious and I need to spread my wings. I’m 29 but I’ve only slept with one other bloke besides him.
That can’t be right, can it? Look at pop stars – they’re at it like rabbits. I’m done with just being one of the well-behaved “little people”.
JANE SAYS: Your boyfriend has made it crystal clear that he’s not interested in an open relationship.
He isn’t keen on you sleeping with other people and would like to shut down the conversation. Do you love him enough to suggest a fresh start, or is this where it ends?
You’re entitled to sleep with anyone you fancy, but you can’t expect him to stick around.
Calm down, take his feelings into account and start speaking to him with respect and consideration. If you don’t go the distance, then at least try to part on good terms.
