Many people might neglect their shower grout when they clean their bathrooms. So if you’ve noticed your shower grout needs a bit of a tidy, it’s easy to clean with just some simple household cleaning products.
How do you clean grout in the shower?
There are several ways you can tackle shower grout at home with simple household cleaning items.
According to Good Housekeeping, you can start by mixing some bicarbonate of soda and water to make a paste.
Give the paste a good brush on the grout with an old toothbrush you don’t need anymore.
Using a spray bottle, just squirt vinegar over the paste on the grout.
The vinegar will cause the paste to bubble up and thicken.
After the dirt has been disturbed and thoroughly scrubbed, rinse the grout well with water.
Another cleaning method for shower grout has proved a hit with users of the social platform, TikTok.
TikTok user @sarah_nde shared a step-by-step video on how to remove dirt from shower grout with a bottle of toilet cleaner.
After coating the grout with toilet cleaner, the solution is left to sit for a few minutes.
The grout is then scrubbed with an old toothbrush to remove the dirt.
However, this method is not recommended by the experts at Victorian Plumbing, who state using toilet cleaner can actually damage shower grout.
