As we look to spend the majority of our time indoors due to coronavirus, it perhaps comes as no surprise we could expect a baby boom by Christmas thanks to the extra time couples are spending together.

To keep things creative those couples in self-isolation together will be happy to know that there are several household items that help spice things up in the bedroom if you happen to get bored.

In recent research people shared the most common object they have turned to, to inject a bit of fun. Not only that but some experts have revealed the most popular room they get saucy in while stuck at home.

With three quarters of people admitting to having a fetish according to Ann Summers, the survey by EOT Cleaning Company found that the most common item used in the bedroom from the house is the spatula.

The spatula was the one most people have admitted to using with 89 per cent of people taking it from the kitchen and into the bedroom to get saucy with.

Why spend your money on expensive whips and paddles when you can pop into the other room and get yourself a ‘home-made’ one?

Second on the list is rope (85 per cent), which can also be exchanged for scarves. One way to spice things up in the bedroom while you are both in quarantine is to take it in turns to tie each other up, which might also come in handy when you need to work from home in peace.

Third and fourth on the list of household items people revealed they use in the bedroom are some of EOT's most used cleaning objects – with 82 per cent using rubber gloves, followed closely by 81 per cent opting for a dusters.

People have also admitted to using some more uncommon objects to spice things up in their romantic life; including objects like broomsticks (55 per cent), sponges (47 per cent) and even the vacuum cleaner (41 per cent).

And while regular household items have been swapped for something a bit naughtier in the bedroom, elsewhere in the house is where those that live without children have been getting a bit fruity.

Going against the norm of bedroom sex some Brits prefer to have sex in the utility room – the most popular of the survey done by Sellhousefast.uk revealing in particular that it's on top of the washing machine.

The shower was where 80 per cent of 1,023 people chose to have some fun, while 82 per cent opted for a bed belonging to someone else.

When we're allowed to socialise in groups again and you get invited round for a dinner party give an extra thought to the table you're eating from, as the survey also found that 41 per cent liked to have sex on the dining table.
