Top of the morning! Guinness launches new COFFEE flavoured stout and it hits the UK this week
- Guinness Cold Brew Coffee Beer will launch in the UK after success in the US
- Stout can be purchased from Tesco today and further stores in coming months
- New drink is brewed at St. James’s Gate in Dublin and is available in 440ml cans
Guinness has launched a new coffee flavoured version of its famed stout in Britain and fans are already scrambling to get their hands on a can.
The Irish brewer, which initially launched the beer in the US last year, say the new beverage dials up the much-loved notes of coffee found in pints of the original black stuff.
As of this week, the drink will be available in select Tesco supermarkets, followed by distribution in further supermarkets and off-licenses nationwide in the coming months.
The brand’s latest offering was developed by an innovation team based at Guinness’s brewery at St James’s Gate in Dublin, where founder Arthur Guinness started brewing ales in 1759.

To achieve the new taste cold brew coffee, which has been steeped in cold water for long periods, is added to Guinness Draught with additional roasted barley, chocolate and caramel flavours.
The beer is best served ice cold and contains approximately 2mg of caffeine per can, the same as a cup of decaf coffee.
It can currently be found in 440ml cans in select Tesco stores but will be launched in Sainsbury’s, Morrison’s, Waitrose and Asda in May and June.
The coffee-flavoured beer is the latest in the brewers line of brand new drinks including the Guinness MicroDraught and alcohol-free beer Guinness 0.0.

‘Complementing traditional notes of Guinness Draught with a refreshingly modern new flavour to delight Guinness fans, and introduce our iconic beer to prospective new fans.
‘We firmly believe we have created a taste experience truly unrivalled in the market and with over 95 million cups of coffee being consumed every day in Great Britain alone, now is the moment to offer a product which plays to an excitingly vast consumer space.
