Two designers have created a fuss-free invention to make changing your duvet as easy as 1,2,3 – it requiring no heavy lifting, shaking or fiddly buttons.
Industrial designers Ben King and partner Luke Gray designed the duvet cover with inventive central opening and a zip in the middle so it won't take a lot of time to remove.
The duvet cover, which they name Koa, is easy and quick to use and is shown in an amazing advert.
First, a woman unzips the opening in the middle of the sheet and places the duvet inside.
She then pushes the duvet to all four corners and zips Koa back up.
It also has anti-bunching ties in each corner, an added feature to hold the duvet in place.
The product was inspired by Luke’s Grandma who could no longer change the duvet cover because it was too difficult.
Ben and Luke met while studying Product Design at Brunel University, and after working for other companies including Joseph Joseph, they began working together on start-up Made by Koa.
Their product has won them a £15,000 grant from the Design Council as well as a £60,000 prize from TV programme Dragon's Den.
Luke said: "Fresh sheets can lead to better sleep, but changing the duvet cover is a nightmare and one of the most hated chores, it’s exhausting, complicated and time consuming.
"We’re on a mission to make it less of a struggle for everyone."
They have tested and designed over 30 prototypes to make a soft zip pull that is comfortable and easy to use.
