But my dislike for cooking can become quite costly in a city like New York — where eating out isn’t cheap and delivery fees feel like a non-refundable down payment on my meal. So around seven months ago, I decided to better manage my monthly food budget by trading my takeout for a meal delivery service.
I first considered giving a meal kit like Blue Apron or Home Chef a try. But I quickly realized I wasn’t interested in having to whip up those meals after a long work day — even with most of the ingredients already being prepped for me.
