Catherine, 49, spoke to the Irish Independent about how she and Dominic, 51, are ‘totally’ committed to their ‘full and vibrant life together’ months after the actor was spotted canoodling with co-star Lily James, 32, in Rome.
West and James, who are currently appearing in the BBC adaptation of The Pursuit Of Love, set tongues wagging when they were photographed getting cosy in the Italian capital in October last year.

Catherine and Dominic, who share four children aged 15 to eight, have put on a united front in the months since.
Speaking on the early days of their relationship, Catherine recalled how there was an ‘instant attraction’ when they met at Trinity College Dublin, where they both studied in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
‘We had a wonderful love affair,’ she continued. ‘We had all the time in the world to explore the pubs and back streets and walk the canal. I have a great memory of the lilac that spring.
‘But at the end of the summer I left him and he has not let me forget it! But I couldn’t have settled down with him right then forever. That would not have been a good idea for either of us.’
Snapped: In October, Dominic and Lily made headlines when they were photographed sharing intimate moments on a trip to Rome. As well as meeting their mutual acting agent, they were spotted sharing a scooter ride and in a clinch over lunch (pictured)
The pair reconnected some 17 years ago, while Dominic was visiting London from the US, where he filmed The Wire.
By then he had a daughter, Martha, with ex-girlfriend Polly Astor, scion of Nancy, Viscountess Astor.
Catherine explained they both had more life experience to bring to the relationship. They tied the knot in 2010, following the birth of two of their children.
She continued: ‘There’s something about having lived a full life before settling down – I felt I could throw myself into family life and having babies with gusto.

‘And I really went for it, having four in seven years! It’s had its ups and downs of course, like everybody, but we are totally devoted to each other and to our full, vibrant family life together.’
Landscape gardener Catherine is the eldest child of Desmond FitzGerald, the 29th Knight of Glin, who died in 2011 with no son to inherit his title.
Glin Castle has been in Catherine’s family for 700 years and has famously played host to Taylor Swift, Sir Mick Jagger and Marianne Faithfull.
She and Dominic decided to take on the property and turn it into a hotel and event space. The castle has become a shared passion for the couple.
Catherine added: ‘We lead quite separate work lives – acting and gardening are worlds apart – so it is lovely to work together on something that we both care about.’
