Demi Lovato has teamed up with Vice President Kamala Harris’s niece Meena Harris and her social cause brand Phenomenal to combat misinformation surrounding the COVID-19 vaccine.
Along with the Higher Heights Leadership Fund, they have launched a “Pro-Vaxxer” campaign with an aim to provide education and resources on COVID-19 vaccine accessibility.
Lovato posted a photo on Instagram wearing the campaign’s sweatshirt where she also shared how proud she was to join.
“Demi is a fierce advocate for many causes, and importantly, she embraces an intersectional approach because she understands that a lot of the issues she cares about are deeply and systemically connected,” Harris told Seventeen.
“Seeing the spread of misinformation about the vaccine online, Demi wanted to use her platform to share truthful, easily accessible information about vaccine safety and also raise funds to help Black and brown communities, which have been hardest hit by COVID-19,” Harris continued.
“When Demi and I learned that we had a shared interest in building a campaign on this topic, it felt like a natural fit to partner together,” Harris added.
The Pro-Vaxxer sweatshirt Lovato is seen wearing is available now on Phenomenal’s website in sizes S – 3XL.
The social-cause brand and media company will also be dedicating 100% of net proceeds made from the sweatshirt to grassroots mobilization and education efforts to spread trusted information to communities of color, particularly Black women about vaccine safety.

Harris also shared that the goal of the campaign is to “highlight the critical leadership of Black women in ensuring trust, efficacy and and equity around vaccine safety and distribution.”
Three of these women she speaks of include founder of the Black Doctors COVID-19 Consortium Dr. Ala Stanford, Dr. Kizzmekia Corbett who is a viral immunologist for the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and founder of Choose Healthy Life Debra Fraser-Howze.
