Demi Lovato is honoring her friend Thomas Trussell III, who died earlier this month after battling drug addiction, with a small tribute tattoo.
The singer, 27, posted a black and white photo of a small “T” on the inside of her forearm on Monday night. “A T for Tommy. RIP you special angel. Love you forever,” she captioned the image.
Lovato — who has been open about her substance abuse issues and nearly died after a drug overdose last year — wrote about Trussell, who was a model, on social media, saying she was “devastated” by the loss and alluded to an overdose.
Tattoo artist Rafael Valdez is responsible for the ink and also tattooed some of Trussell’s other friends, including Hailey Baldwin’s stylist Maeve Reilly.
“Addiction is NO joke..heaven gained this beautiful angel last night because of that terrible disease,” she wrote in an Instagram Story. “I’m crushed and will always miss you @sirtruss. If you or someone you know is struggling please know it’s okay to ask for help,” Lovato wrote.
