“The trial in our Cardiff store has shown there is demand from customers for bigger packs to help them benefit from even better savings when purchasing common pet, household, snacking and cleaning products in larger quantities.”

Ten more of the stores are now opening across the UK, as well as a second store that was opening in Crotyon, Cardiff.

A Bristol store was opened earlier in the year to test the exciting new concept.

At the time Matt Dodd, store manager at Asda Patchway, said: “Customers in Bristol have been chosen to help us open and test a new idea around wholesale retail called The Deal Depot.

“Our Patchway customers were fantastic at giving us feedback when we launched some new features in our store refurb last year – and we want their input again.

“They will help us decide what kind of products we should stock and how we can make their shopping experience even faster, friendlier, and more efficient than it is already.

“We want to use this as an environment where we can test new ideas and learn from our customers.

“We want to hear all of their suggestions to help us challenge the way we think about retail and what is possible.”
