Harry and Markle to adopt baby number two
An anonymous insider says that Harry and Markle are thinking about adopting a baby from Africa. The pair, who have been labeled as rebellious in the past, want Archie to have a sibling and think adopting would be a great way to have their second child.
Meghan Markle gave birth to Archie this past May. Adoption ispractically unheard of in the royal family so it is unclear how Queen Elizabethwill respond to the plan — but it is certainly a bold move on behalf of theDuke and Duchess of Sussex.
“Harry and Meghan are going to face a lot of opposition fromthe old guard, but they are stubborn!” the insider dished.
Why adopt a child from Africa? According to Latin Times, Prince Harry and Markle believe that adopting a baby from Africa would honor both of their families. Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, did a lot of charitable work in Africa, including helping children in Angola and raising awareness of the AIDS epidemic.
For her part, Meghan Markle comes from a mixed-race family, soadopting a child from Africa would pay respect to her mother, Doria Ragland.Harry and Markle, unfortunately, have not confirmed or denied the rumors sofans should take these reports with some skepticism.
Meghan Markle is enjoying being a mom
While we wait to learn more on the adoption front, Markle is still adjusting to life as a new mom. The former actress has been taking care of baby Archie for several months now, and her journey into motherhood has reportedly helped her develop a closer bond with Kate Middleton.
Victoria Arbiter, whose dad was Queen Elizabeth’s spokesman, claims that having a child has given Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton somethingto bond over. The two have been fighting feud rumors for well over a year, soit is good to think that they finally share something in common.
“Babies are a great leveler,” Arbiter shared. “Theminute you’re bonding over your stories and sleepless nights, suddenly all thestuff that mattered before doesn’t matter anymore.”
Markle gave birth to Archie back in May. The couple confirmed theannounced on social media a few days after the delivery and have shared severalpics of Archie since then. Markle has also made several public appearancessince the birth and is currently gearing up for a major trip to Africa withHarry and Archie.
The Africa tour will mark the couple’s first trip abroad as afamily of three. If the adoption rumors are true, then there is a chance thatHarry and Markle look into the process while visiting Africa this fall.
Will Meghan Markle wait until 2021 to have another baby?
Despite the adoption rumors, some royal experts believe thatMarkle will not have another baby until 2021 at the earliest. Katie Nicholl, who has authored books on the royal family, believes that it is way too earlyto be speculating about another baby.
But rather than adopting or getting pregnant right away, Nichollbelieves the couple will wait until next year to start trying again. That wouldput a second pregnancy announcement around mid-to-late 2020, with the babybeing born at some point in 2021.
Nicholl also claims that inside sources told her that Harry andMarkle want a large family. The couple does not want Archie to be an onlychild, which could mean multiple siblings. Rather than rushing into anotherpregnancy, however, Markle wants to wait a year or two in between births.
