The bride-to-be, called Aimee, was told her rock was "monstrous" and looked like a "Ring Pop".
Sharing an image of her hand to Facebook group 'That's It, I'm Ring Shaming', the sizeable piece of jewellery featured a large "emerald" surrounded by "diamonds".
"My engagement ring," the future bride wrote.
"Backstory: The emerald and diamonds were from my grandmothers rings.
"We were very close and it means a lot to me."
I’d hate to p*** you off and get punched while you’re wearing that ring pop looking thing. Ow.
