Kicking off Oscar weekend, ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood celebrated the many women influencing the entertainment industry featuring Zendaya, Whoopi Goldberg, Leslie Jones and many more. The event hosted virtually and in-person included a selected group of presenters and honorees that walked the red-carpet closing out awards season in their best gowns yet.

As entertainers stopped by pre-show host Storm Reid to chat, the actress gathered outfit details in which both Andra Day and Laverene Cox disclosed that they were sporting Black Designers. Cox who hosted the ceremony, wore a custom Lavie by Ck mermaid gown and changed in the evening to Samantha Black NYC. Day sported a bronze sleek Aliette NYC designed by Jason Rembert.
