Welcome to my Saturday Shop column, today we’re talking about how to wear flares.
The first time I wore flares, Donny Osmond was riding high in the charts.

Four decades later, wide-legged trousers are back in fashion and women ‘of a certain age’ could be forgiven for thinking they’re best left to the younger generations.
Indeed, some of you have emailed in to say exactly that, whilst others have opined ‘I can’t wear jeans.’
But everyone can. You just have to get the right style for your figure, and that means setting time aside to try several shapes, styles and lengths.
When you find the right ones, it’s worth it as jeans are the trousers that can last a lifetime.
This pair from River Island which uses responsibly sourced cotton for all its jeans now, are fitted to the knee – more sophisticated than the excessively baggy styles out there.
They are really flattering because they hug you in all the right places before flaring out at the bottom, balancing out your proportions. And they’re incredibly flexible too.
I teamed them with a pink striped shirt from Next and a pair of gold wedges from Dune London to add a bit of glam – making it an outfit suitable for many occasions.
