BRITS across the country have revealed where they are keeping their secret stash of lockdown sweets – so their kids or partners can’t find them.

From inside cereal boxes or the tumble dryer, to first aid kits and ironing cupboards, inventive treat-lovers are pulling out all the stops to keep their haul safe.

One woman posted on Facebook to reveal her secret stash of sweets and admitted she hides her chocolate in cereal boxes.

She shared a picture of her box of Bran Flakes and inside her pack of chocolate Crunchie bars.

The user posted in the Family Lockdown Tips & Ideas Facebook group, writing: “Has anyone else resorted to hiding treats where you know the kids won't look?!?”

The hilarious thread instantly raked up nearly 10,000 likes and thousands of comments with strangers sharing their fun secret stashes of snacks at home.

Another woman shared her hiding place for her snacks throughout the coronavirus lockdown – insisting she wasn’t worried about her kids stealing the treats, but it was her husband.

She commented: “I hide my stuff from the hubby…. in the tumble-dryer….”

While others admitted they hid chocolate in the first aid kit as a last ditch effort to hide their favourite snacks from the family as well as using the bedroom wardrobe for a clever spot.

However others were more sceptical of revealing their hiding places – as their family members were also in the Facebook group and may see their response.

One user shared their secret stash, writing: “My ironing cupboard should stop Hubby too.”

Another added: “Mine now go in the cleaning cupboard as it still has a child lock on it and my six-year-old doesn’t know how to open it.”

A third commented: “Salad drawer in the fridge! Dead certain they won’t look in there!”

However, a number of people commented the cereal box hiding trick wouldn’t work for them as snacking on cereal was a regular occurrence in their households.

Many admitted their children and grandchildren love cereal and the hiding place would fail to stop hungry little ones.

Other hiding places included padlocked cupboards, under old magazine stashes and beneath empty tins.

One woman took her secret sweet stash to the extreme and revealed how she tricked her children into liking vegetables.

She wrote: “I used to take all the treats out of the wrappers, soak them in vinegar overnight and sellotape them back up in the wrappers again.

“They'd use so much energy to get them open and then the look on their little faces when they got that first mouthful was hilarious. They now love vegetables!”

Others used bedside tables and empty washing tablet boxes to store their treats.

One added: “My knicker drawer,my wardrobe, cat food cupboard (safest place cos I'm the only one that bloody feeds them).

“Now I keep them in my car and go to work every day so only bring in a bit at a time!”

A second user revealed she hides chocolate in the tea bag tin, a slow cooker and a water can in the cupboard.
