Princess Beatrice: Experts discuss her new wedding photos

Beatrice, like other royals, has influenced the fashion style of many royal fans who often seek out statement pieces the Princess is seen wearing. Similarly, members of the Firm mirror each other’s gowns and accessories, like Sophie did with Beatrice.

Prince Edward’s wife was spotted wearing a Philip Treacy statement hat that her niece wore in 2005.

The voluminous burgundy headpiece was Sophie’s pick for her visit to the Corps of Army Music.

Beatrice wore the hat in purple aged just 17 for the walk to church on Christmas Day.

But it seems like the Countess may have owned the hat since 2006 asa she was first seen donning it at Cheltenham Festival in March 2006.

It was also her accessory of choice on Christmas Day that year.

The Countess has become a key member of the Royal Family by being hard-working and supporting the Queen.

According to royal expert Erin Hill, Sophie represents the values of the Firm.

She said: “A royal source told PEOPLE that the Queen and Sophie are remarkably close and that Sophie’s actually the Queen’s favourite daughter-in-law.

“It is understandable when you consider she pretty much embodies everything that the Royal Family stands for and the Queen really admires. She’s exceptionally discreet, she’s always dependable.”

Ms Hill told PEOPLE TV how important Sophie’s role in the Royal Family was to Her Majesty.

She said: “We spoke with Joe Little of Majesty Magazine and he said Sophie has proven to be a royal key worker. She makes a difference in these understated ways and that’s something that is very important to the Queen.”

As well as an impeccable royal career, Sophie has proved herself capable of having a long-lasting and stable marriage.

According to some royal commentators, the Countess’ good relationship with Edward has contributed to the Queen’s approval of her.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex celebrated the 21st wedding anniversary last week.

The couple spent the lockdown together with their two children, Lady Louise and James, Viscount Severn, at their Berkshire home, Bagshot Park.

They have demonstrated that stand by each other in private through the coronavirus crisis and in public as they appeared at engagements.

Sophie has also attended engagements by herself and in company of other royals as part of her commitment to more than 70 charities in the UK and abroad.

During the first coronavirus lockdown, the Countess helped Prince Charles and Prince William to inaugurate one of the several Nightingale hospitals set up to treat COVID-19 patients.

Last week, the Countess helped out at St John Ambulance Operational Support Hub, a visit that was confirmed with an Instagram post on the Royal Family’s official account.

The post read: “The Countess helped to organise these deliveries and PPE shipments to be sent to ambulance crews, specialist cleaners, hospital staff and first aiders.”
