The Cotton Rich Ribbed Slim Fit Vest Top costs just £8.50 and comes in eleven colours… but it’s the white number that has everyone talking.
Shoppers have dubbed it “opaque white” with good stretchiness and a streamlined fit, with some raving about the “fantastic” quality and comfiness.
Bosses at M&S dubbed the top a “wardrobe staple that combines classic and contemporary style”.
“This cotton-rich ribbed vest creates a classic look for those sunny days,” they said. “Flattering slim fit design for a streamlined silhouette. Neat crew neck.”

And those who own one of the vests agree with the favourable description.
“Great quality,” one shopper said. “It’s opaque white with good stretch and recovery.
“It doesn’t go baggy so the fit stays in great shape.”
“Fantastic vest,” another quipped. “You can wear a normal bra without the straps showing and it washes well.

Others were also impressed with the sizing of the vests.
“Great top. I bought a few in a size 14 as I didn't want it to be too tight,” one said. “But in fact, I could have been okay with a size 12.
“Lovely for my holiday.”
The vests have an average 4.7 star rating on the M&S website from happy customers.
It is made from 95% cotton and 5% elastane.
Other colours include chocolate brown, black, neutral and khaki.
