Hardly a moment goes by where Ivanka Trump and her stepmother Melania aren’t dressed to the nines. Whether they’re appearing on the lawn of the White House for an announcement, or attending a foreign visit with US President Donald Trump, both women are known to spend thousands of pounds on their outfits. It was recently reported that First Lady Melania spent an eye watering £12,000 on her outfits for her UK visit with Trump last month. Melania and Donald visited the UK from 3 June to 5 June as part of a three-day state visit. During this time, the couple attended events with members of the Royal Family, including Queen Elizabeth II, and the Prime Minister.
Melania Trump v Ivanka Trump style: Who wears the most expensive outfits?
For the occasion, the US First Lady had a suitcase full of chic outfits and her wardrobe over the three days totalled an eye-watering £12,652.
However, it was Ivanka who won the battle of the outfits that time, as she was said to have spent an even bigger £16,000 on clothes for the same UK visit in a bid to “outshine” her stepmother.
But who really has the most expensive wardrobe?
Express.co.uk looked at Melania and Ivanka’s outfits from the last month, and fans will be surprised to know hat it was actually the First Lady who came out on top.
On average, Ivanka spent roughly £2,800 on single outfits, whereas Melania spent just over £3,000.
During her visit to the UK, Melania was spotted in a green, red and white Gucci dress, which costed $4400, which is equivalent to £3482.
Later on in the visit, the 49-year-old sported a red Givenchy gown, costing a whopping £5,610.
Made from wool-crepe, the gown has a bodice embroidered with beads.
Melania’s skirt featured a satin insert and pockets, and was very similar to a yellow gown Melania wore in London on her last visit.
Ivanka was also spotted wearing an equally pricey outfit, as she met with Prime Minister Theresa May last month.
The so-called First Daughter opted for a £2437 Burberry outfit with a matching spotty skirt and shirt, and Burberry court heels.
Ivanka’s expensive wardrobe has a lot to do with their recent UK, visit where the 37-year-old spent a whopping £14,000 on clothes for the first day alone, in comparison to Melania’s £12,000 across the three days.
Perhaps her most expensive outfit of the trip was an Alessandra Rich floral print ensemble, which costed £855 for the skirt, £565 for the matching belt, and £1568.96 for the jacket.
She wore the outfit to Westminster Abbey, and added a Phillip Treacy fascinator at £1,950, totalling the outfit at £4,928.96.
Back in the US, the women also spent a lot on their outfits. For the MAGA rally, Melania opted for a yellow jumpsuit by designer Ralph Lauren, costing £2000, whereas Ivanka raised the stakes in a £2696 Oscar de la Renta dress, which she teamed with white court shoes.
Ivanka recently attended the G20 summit in Japan wth her dad, where she was rumoured to have been given the “cold shoulder” from fellow world leaders.
During the visit, she was spotted in a pricey Valentino dress, costing £2790. Highlighting her tiny waist, Ivanka added a slim white leather belt to the dress. The mum-of-three paired it with nude suede court shoes, elongating her long legs.
Although Melania didn’t attend the summit in Japan, she was recently pictured wearing an equally expensive outfit. The First Lady stunned in an 80s inspired pink suit, as she joined her husband at the White House to meet with Polish Leaders last month.
The suit, which is from one of Melania’s favourite designers Ralph Lauren, would have set her back roughly £3,000, with the suit jacket costing £2,000 alone.
